What are you looking forward to most in the upcoming month?
Hello friends,
Take 5-15 minutes and write about
What are you looking forward to most in the upcoming month?
For the first few days of July, we will be reflecting on our progress this year so far and what we want to achieve with the rest of the year. Do the goals we set for ourselves at the top of the year still align with where we want to go? What has changed so far and where would we like to see even more change?
I ask what you are looking forward to at the top of every month, but I think it sets an important tone for our reflections.
There are a few things I’m particularly looking forward to in July. On the 1st, we celebrated my father’s move back to Michigan to begin his new job as the Dean of Learning Resources at Macomb Community College.
Next week, we will be traveling with Andrew’s family for a vacation in the Hocking Hills, close to where I grew up in Athens, Ohio. The area is gorgeous and I’m looking forward to doing some hiking.
I’m also looking forward to re-centering my journaling practice. I’m proud that my prompts went out every day in June, but I haven’t shared a lot of my thoughts lately, so I’m hoping to do more of that again over the course of July.
There are lots of big changes happening in my social circle and support system in Chicago. Several friends are moving away and starting new exciting chapters of their lives this month. While I can’t say that I am looking forward to their absence, I feel an energy and desire for change and forward motion that I hope everyone is able to tap into.
I hope you have a lot to look forward to in July and in the rest of 2023. I’d love to hear about what those anticipated highlights are.
Your friend,
Laura
